“Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing.” I don’t know why I picked that quote!
Speaking of research I must tell you’ll that I have indeed been doing research on a particular matter. Its been a while since I have been trying to understand what it takes to make a perfect bowl of Traditional Creamy Tomato Soup. Yes, that’s correct, it is my favorite soup.

Many restaurants have failed my ‘Tomato Soup’ test. Now now do not misunderstand my statement, my city is very capable of serving various delicious cuisines. There is absolutely no doubt about that. But for some reason I have always noticed and experienced that there are only a handful of restaurants who can serve a perfect bowl of Traditional Creamy Tomato Soup.

I mean thinking of the fact that it is the simplest soup to prepare, what can be the possible trouble with it. It must have a lovely molly orange color, so that when you look at it there is an instant sense of gratification. It has to be thick in consistency which is a combination of various ingredients. Creamy which will make your tongue want more and must be sweet and tangy in taste making the whole experience a memorable one. Of course to be always served with croutons or garlic bread, take your pick!

I can barely pick 5 restaurants from my city that will serve me the perfect soup. I have never faced trouble with any other soup. I mean almost everyone will get a sweet corn soup right, a hot n sour soup right, a spinach soup right. Its always the Traditional Tomato which is messed up. Mostly, with the consistency and then with the taste. I have never understood why this is so.
So I put my own logic to it.

I guess the trouble is, that it is a Simple soup to prepare. It is always the Simple stuff which we tend to complicate for no apparent reason.
It is the simplest of relations, like the ones we are blessed with, which we will complicate.
It is the simplest of emotions, like crying, which we will complicate.
It is the simplest of words, like I love you, which we will complicate.

We just can't handle simplicity. That’s what it is.

Until next time........
