Yup that’s what this post is about, superstition. A Superstition is “any blindly accepted belief or notion” as explained by Dictionary.com (my friend in need). Well we all have read the story of Cinderella but I wish to refresh your memory by giving you the gist of the story.
As always, Once upon a time there was a beautiful and moral girl, Cinderella, who is the main character of the story. She is blessed/unblessed with a mean stepmother and a set of stepsisters, namely Drizella and Anastasia- named by Disney, who are obviously affluent and lack any moral character whatsoever! Stepmother and stepsisters are always troubling the beautiful Cinderella. The poor girl bears all the trouble without uttering a word! And one fine day the fairy Godmother comes to her help which in turn gets her to her ‘Prince’(been extinct since I guess always!).
Well we all know that it is a fairy tale and almost all aspects of it are simply delusive. All fairy tales are based on such perceptions. So if all these fairy tales are delusive then why are we studying them and teaching them. I mean there are a zillion people telling us about Religious superstitions and how following them is absolutely unnecessary and incorrect. But then how come nobody realizes that fairy tales are also nothing but superstitions, blindly accepted believes!
One such notion of the story is that all affluent people in this world are super b***hs! What kind of a stupid notion is that, if at all that’s true, then how do charitable organizations function in this world? How does the word Charity even exist in this world? Another notion being that a moral character flourishes in an environment of famine! Untrue to its core! Many such superstitions have become the basis of our thought process.
Superstitious perceptions such as these are wholly responsible for all the possible loss in this world. How many potentially good friends have we lost only because we based our perceptions on fairy tales and not on experience. In this isolated galaxy where we have only each other, is it remunerative to lose quality friends due to perceptions such as Cinderella.
The question is, are fairy tales just in books or have we made them a reality!
